I have always been a huge ice cream fan. Ben & Jerry’s was one of the big obstacles when I decided to go vegan nearly 7 years ago. If I had only known of all the tasty, cruelty-free options out there! Here is a rundown of some of the standards and what I think of them.
Tofutti- I don’t think Tofutti pints are very good. When I was just a baby vegan and this was all I could find, I enjoyed it, but I soon learned that there are much better options out there. Tofutti Cuties (little ice cream sandwiches), on the other hand, are delicious.
vs.
Soy Delicious- Actually, a little while ago they dropped the Y and started calling this stuff So Delicious, but I still know it by its old name. Generally, though, it is pretty delicious. It seems that they make 3 main kinds: the standard, which comes in quarts and is often the best deal; Purely Decadent, which is amazing (Chunky Mint Madness and Chocolate Brownie Almond are some of my faves); and fruit sweetened, which I’ve never tried and don’t particularly have any interest in. They make you fill in a bunch of info, but you can get $1 off coupons for Soy Delish products here.

Temptation- This brand is relatively new to me, but it’s damn tasty. They have a decent Cookie Dough and fantastic Peach Cobbler flavor, complete with doughy bits. It’s creamier than most brands, and I recommend giving it a try if you haven’t yet.

There are many more vegan ice creams out there but these are the ones I have the most experience with. If anyone has other kinds they really like I’d love to hear about them- I can’t get enough ice cream-y goodness.
