Inspired by a recent post at Beauty Ability and the discovery of a $100 Old Navy gift card I got for Xmas, last week I set off to the mall in search of long pants. You know how your pants get all short when you sit down? Well, imagine if you sat down all the time. Even when I mostly walked I had a hard time finding long enough pants- despite being only 5′4″ I have way-too-long legs (Jim: “You’re the leggiest short girl ever!”). Now that I use a wheelchair I spend much of my time wheeling around with nerdily-too-short pants- the pants that are just barely long enough for walking. The chair is weird enough- I don’t need to look doubly uncool on top of that. Besides the fashion (or lack thereof) factor, having too-short pants makes my ankles really cold.
I found fantastically long jeans at Old Navy. I got one pair of the Flirt (mid-rise) and two of the Diva (low rise), in Long length of course. The Diva comes in bootcut and skinny variety. I tried on the skinny, but since I am neither a hipster nor do I wear tall over-the-pants boots, I have no desire for them. If you’re a wheelchair-using hipster, (I want to meet you and) you’re in luck. Regardless of your style and ability, if you need uberlong jeans (cheap, too!), check out Old Navy.
