I am totally into reusable produce bags.  Putting your fruit and veggies in a plastic bag that will be used for all of an hour (while you buy your stuff, take it home, and empty it into the fridge/fruit bowl) before you trash it is pretty wasteful.  I can justify the occasional plastic grocery bag because sometimes I use them for cat litter, but produce bags aren’t even really reusable- they’re usually really flimsy, and chances are you knotted them at the store and had to rip them open when you got home, eliminating the possibility of re-use.  And if you’re already a reusable shopping bag kind of person (which I hope you are), it’s kind of silly to be filling those reusable bags with plastic-bagged produce.

So that’s why reusable produce bags are the way to go.  I got mine on Etsy from QwertyO, who is super nice and helpful (she sent me a sample bag that got me hooked, and made me cute custom frame protectors for my wheelchair!).  Check out her shop here if you’re considering getting produce bags.  And they’re not just good for produce- I use them for bulk nuts, and they’d work for many other little snacky items.  Handy little things, these.
