Jeni- I&#039;ve been trying to find out the difference between manicotti and cannelloni.  It seems that manicotti originally referred to stuffed crepes rolled around filing and baked with sauce, instead of pasta tubes.  Now, at least in the US, the terms appear to be used interchangeably, though some people use different types of fillings and sauces for each.  I had no idea!</description>
