Yesterday I got a package full of yummy things from Chayote, my PPK package swap partner. I was so excited to participate in a swap, and she did not disappoint!

Lots of tea, saffron, dried shiitake mushrooms, a Green & Black’s hazelnut and currant chocolate bar, tea with brown rice, soy flour, local jellies (salmonberry and fireweed), two kinds of sandwich cookies, banana blossoms, a sesame candy, and cocoa chili powder!

Peanut butter-chocolate chip blondies, which travelled extraordinarily well! Everything was padded with the Sitka newspaper, and what you see there is pictures of the Alaska Day celebration- my package was not only tasty, but educational. I also enjoyed the police blotter- one day “a woman reported her daughter refused to come home or tell her parents where she was going,” and the next, “a resident called 911 to complain about the police department”. Good luck with that one.

happy eating! peace/love/radiance.

What a nice package. Everything sounds so thoughtful and unique. What did you send?
I agree with you that those police beat stories sound hilarious. My mother’s hometown paper is similar. I always get a kick out of the weird and absurd things that happen or get stolen.
